In addition to our complete selection of organic produce, Albert’s carries an extensive line of organic and natural fresh foods including meat, poultry, cheeses, yogurts, tofu and soy products, milk, juices and much more. We travel the country looking for food artisans, growers and manufacturers that provide the finest in organic and natural fresh foods.

Finding the right food artisans to match the quality that we seek is no easy task. Our fresh experts and buyers travel the country looking for growers and processors in search of the finest products. Most important in our search is to find that very special grower/artisan, whose finished products are so wonderful and so compelling that it becomes apparent once you try their food that they are the best. This is the criterion we use when sourcing our fresh foods.

Key to our success with our fresh foods is working with local and regional artisans. Locally raised food uses the least amount of fossil fuels in getting from production to the consumer. Albert’s has a comprehensive local and regional program in place for each of our distribution centers, working with growers and food artisans that are nearby to our distribution centers.

We are most proud of our own fresh brands – Grateful Harvest and Heartland Meadow. These products comprise our popular and fast-growing protein program, featuring both an organic grass-fed beef, as well as an all-natural grain-fed product. You can click here to read more about these products.
