Product recalls on a national level with produce and fresh foods happen on occasion, and when they do, it’s important that you have all the necessary information needed to understand how (if at all) the recall affects you and your customers. When recalls occur, what’s most important is that we are able to alert you to let you know exactly what is going on and how to proceed. In order to make this process as effective as possible, Albert’s will be working with an automated product recall system administered by Recall InfoLink. We believe this is the best and most effective method for communicating with the thousands of customers we work with in the event of a recall. Recall InfoLink improves efficiency by providing standardized messages, automated communications, inventory tracking and reports for compliance efforts; and has a superb track record for ease of use and effeciency.
Please watch this short slideshow that goes through the steps of using Recall Infolink should a recall occur. The slideshow is very short and very easy to understand, and is an excellent training tool.
By using the Recall InfoLink system, we are now more confident than ever that Albert's Organics has the correct checks and balances in place, along with an efficient communication system, to be able to execute a recall event quickly and effectively. This effectiveness will enable our customer partners to receive all the pertinent information to be able to quickly execute the recall at the store level. Because we value food safety as the most important issue in working with food, we know how critical it is to get the right information to the right people quickly, so that we protect our customers and ultimately the consumer by getting the recalled product removed from sales efficiently and effectively.
Primus GMP Certified
Albert’s Organics is Primus Certified in all of our distribution centers, using the Primus GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Audit Standard. The Primus Labs program gives us the ability to have a 3rd party certification agency come in and audit our program to verify that our program is working and to validate our own internal audits of our food safety program. The program audit creates a comprehensive and detailed report that we can use to focus on potential areas of improvement as well as producing a score that we use to set and measure our goals for the program.
Good Manufacturing Practices are guidelines and regulations that are designed to ensure that packing and processing operations account for food safety issues. Primus Labs GMP Programs cover many areas, including pest control, traceability, sanitation, food defense, maintenance, foreign material control and HACCP. Primus Labs Programs are tailored for different types of facilities including cooling, packing and processing and storage operations. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are developed and incorporated into the GMP program, providing guidance with respect to potential points for contamination and preventative or corrective measures to mitigate their effects.
