Albert’s has the Distribution Network You Need
Albert’s Organics began in 1982. At this time the stage was set for organic foods to flourish. More and more growers, particularly in California, were farming organically and supplies were ready to meet the demands of an ever-growing population ready to explore a diet that featured organic foods. Natural food stores were popping up out west, as well as in college towns and in larger metropolitan areas. And yet, there was still a slight hurdle that needed to be overcome. If the growers were responsible for delivering their harvest to the stores as well as growing the food, this would cut back considerably on their production time. And up until Albert’s came along, that’s how it went. What was needed was an entity that would step in and cover the transportation and delivery needs that would connect the growers with the retailers and provide communities with their organic food supplies. This is the role that Albert’s filled and continues to fill 30 years later.
Many of the premiere organic farmers in the industry today are growers that we have worked with from the very beginning. Many growers were able to convert their farms over to organic because they saw with Albert’s an opportunity to have their crops distributed nationally.
Over the years Albert’s has grown to be the nation’s leading distributor of quality organically grown produce and perishable items. We deliver to all major metropolitan cities, most regions in the continental U.S., and to many areas in Canada. We have the largest effective distribution coverage of any organic produce supplier in the country with 7 distribution centers located in New Jersey, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Florida, California, Colorado, and Minnesota, supplying product to over 5,000 retailers and food service groups. Supporting this distribution infrastructure, Albert’s is owned by UNFI – the largest distributor of organic and natural foods in the world. Their distribution network in North America provides even greater opportunities for distribution and networking.
Our Marketing team works very closely with our retail customers supporting them with educational and signage materials that help them to sell their product. No wholesale distribution company creates more merchandising and marketing tools for their customers than Albert’s Organics, and these tools have proven to be invaluable to our retailers in selling and promoting organically grown food.
A key component of the Marketing/Merchandising support that we provide to our retail customers is our local program. Long before locally grown became popular, Albert’s was selling and promoting locally grown organic fresh food at each of our distribution centers. We have created a dynamic, turn-key program that allows consumers to easily know which products are local and regional to their area and which growers are raising their food. We have even developed a QR Code program that allows smartphone shoppers to access everything they could want to know about your farm by simply scanning a code on the signage we provide that will link with a grower profile that comes directly to their phone. It’s the perfect marriage of farming and technology.
Choose a partner that is proven, and one that has delivered returns year in and year out for its grower partners – Albert’s Organics.
